How Paramount Identified these Physicians
for Special Recognition
All of Paramount’s 500+ Primary Care Practitioners (PCPs) were evaluated on how well they give health care to Paramount members. Doctors who performed better than their peers are listed below. Paramount considered their individual performance for both preventive care and treatment of chronic conditions. For Family Practice Physicians these included Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings, Childhood and Adolescent Immunizations, Asthma Care and Diabetes Care. Internal Medicine PCPs were evaluated on Breast, Cervical, and Colon Cancer Screenings and Care for Asthma and Diabetes. For Pediatricians, Well Care for Infants, Childhood and Adolescent Immunizations and Asthma Care were reviewed. To be sure rates were reliable, the doctor had to have at least five (5) Paramount members as patients eligible for the measure.
Many excellent PCPs did not have enough Paramount members to meet these requirements, so calculations could not be made.
